Our Philosophy
At The Playhouse, we believe that children are naturally curious, capable, and eager to explore the world around them. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, nature-based learning, and a strong foundation in play-based development.
We follow an emergent curriculum—meaning our learning themes come directly from the children's interests and questions. Whether we’re exploring space, planting flowers, or observing bugs up close, each topic unfolds through hands-on projects, art, stories, and discussions.
Children express their ideas through open-ended art, pretend play, building, and storytelling. Our classroom is filled with opportunities to imagine, create, build, and discover—because we believe that the deepest learning happens through play, wonder, and connection.
Extensive research has shown that children learn best through play and exploration. Play at every stage of development improves a child's IQ, social-emotional growth, learning, and academic performance. Our activities are designed to adequately nurture the emotional and intellectual growth of our kids. Through stimulating activities, hands-on learning opportunities, and exploration, young children are free to develop into bright young minds.
How do we spend our days?
At The Playhouse, our days are rooted in play, exploration, and curiosity.
We believe young children learn best through meaningful experiences, hands-on discovery, and joyful connection. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we follow the children’s lead—building our days around their interests, questions, and natural wonder about the world around them.

Each day includes open-ended play, movement, imaginative storytelling, collaborative building, and creative expression. Whether your child is constructing a fort, painting a rocket ship, collecting flowers to examine, or pretending to open a café with friends, they’re deeply engaged in the kind of learning that lasts.

Circle time begins each session and brings us together for songs, stories, and conversations that build connection and community. Early academic skills like letters and counting are gently woven in, but our focus remains on discovery, creativity, and child-led exploration—especially in science and project-based learning inspired by the children's ideas.

Children leave our care ready for Kindergarten—confident, capable, socially prepared, and full of excitement for learning.

Children must be at least two years old and up-to-date on immunizations to attend. Potty training is not required.
